Latino Tax Professional Association Launched
Salinas, CA, August 4, 2008—LTPA (Latino Tax Professionals Association), a new trade association for Latino tax professionals, was officially launched today at the start of the IRS Tax Forum in Orlando, Florida. The Latino Tax Professionals Association (LTPA) fills a vast need for Latinos and for the IRS to communicate to Latino tax professionals and taxpayers on a national level. LTPA is listed on www.irs.gov as National Practitioner Organization Payroll and Practitioner Partner.
LTPA receives invitations to national meetings at the IRS Headquarters in Washington, DC, to discuss upcoming tax law changes, procedural changes and outreach programs. LTPA shares the benefits of partnering with the IRS with its members.
LTPA is the first Latino tax professional-focused membership organization to establish a personal national contact relationship with the IRS to directly share concerns and ideas and to identify and remove barriers between tax practitioners and the IRS.
“We are excited to announce the official launch of LTPA. We are focused on working with the Latino tax professional community—the largest non-affiliated group of tax professionals in the country,” says Carlos Lopez, President of LTPA. “With so many issues facing the country in taxation and immigration and making sure everything is done correctly, we feel like we can work well with the IRS and our membership to a thriving market that meets many needs.”

About LTPA
LTPA was started by Carlos Lopez, CEO of Lopez Financial Group based in Salinas, California. Mr. Lopez has been in the tax and accounting business for over 26 years. Over the years, other Latino tax and business professionals have strongly urged him to help organize this growing and important group into an important community—one that can be heard and felt both within and without the Latino community. LTPA is an important national organization that will affect taxation policy in the United States.
The Latino community represents the nation’s largest and fastest growing minority group. It is literally reshaping the way many companies deliver goods and services across the United States. LTPA members have the opportunity to shape the direction of tax preparation for this growing marketplace. By 2010, it is estimated that there will be over 3.2 million Hispanic-owned businesses in the United States.
