Small Business Gets a Break in 2008: Section 179

There's a two-fold explanation that the time’s right to invest in your business. Small businesses have had to contend with a slew of hard knocks lately, from skyrocketing fuel prices to a weak economy and intensifying global competition. But they did catch one break earlier this year. In February the U.S. Congress passed the Economic Stimulus Act of 2008, which includes dramatic changes to the way businesses can expense certain purchases under Section 179 of the tax code.
